While in Texas, the Aga Khan met with Governor Rick Perry at the State Capitol in Austin, and was then hosted to a State Banquet in his honour by the Governor and First Lady of Texas. Also in Austin, he presided over the signing of a joint Memorandum of Understanding between the Aga Khan University and the University of Texas.
